5 tips to celebrate Valentine's Day
On February 14, 2021, it's once again the day of love: Valentine's Day! There are always two camps on this day: people who love Valentine's Day and people who find it dreadful. No matter which camp you belong to, you can always do something small for a loved one on this day. You don’t need to be in a relationship to celebrate Valentine's Day! You can also do something sweet for your brother, sister, mother, father, grandpa, or grandma. Especially in these strange times, a little extra love is always welcome!
Are you looking for inspiration to celebrate Valentine's Day? We’ve got 5 tips for a fun Valentine's Day. Of course, these tips are related to Apple, and most of them can be done digitally.
Tip 1: Surprise a loved one with a video call
Given the current circumstances, we’re video calling more than ever! You can, of course, start a video call via WhatsApp, but also via FaceTime. Don’t tell the person ahead of time that you’ll be calling, so it’s still a surprise. Want to make it even more special? Make sure you’ve already had something delivered to your loved one beforehand, such as a nice bottle of wine or chocolates. That way, you can both enjoy a snack during the call.Tip 2: Netflix & Chill with lots of snacks
Of course, you can watch a romantic comedy on Valentine's Day. You don’t even have to do it with a loved one—you can enjoy it on your own! Netflix has plenty of movies to choose from. Some romantic films currently available on Netflix are:- The Notebook;
- Pride & Prejudice;
- Bridget Jones’s Diary;
- The Holiday;
- No Strings Attached;
- Friends With Benefits;
- The Best of Me;
- About Time.
Make sure you have plenty of snacks at home! Think popcorn, chips, and M&M’s. Treat yourself!
Tip 3: Create a beautiful photo collage of you and your loved one
If you’ve been together with your loved one for a long time, you’ve probably taken lots of fun photos. Scroll through all the photos on your iPhone and pick out the best ones! Then, for example, download the app ‘PicCollage’ and start creating your own personal photo collage. Edit your photos and add a sweet message. Then send it to your loved one.Tip 4: Send your heartbeat via ‘Messages’
Send your loved one your heartbeat on Valentine's Day via ‘Messages.’ Here’s how you do it:- Open the ‘Messages’ app on your iPhone
- Go to the conversation with your loved one and open it
- Tap the ‘Digital Touch’ app icon at the bottom (it’s the icon with a heart and two fingers)
- Place two fingers on the black screen, and your heartbeat will be automatically measured. You’ll see a red, beating heart appear on the screen
- Hold it as long as you like
- When you lift your fingers off the screen, your heartbeat will be sent automatically
Tip 5: Give your favorite song as a gift
You probably already know that you can buy music on iTunes. But did you know that you can also buy music for someone else? Buy a romantic song for your loved one—or even a whole album! Here’s how:- Find the song or album you want to give as a gift in the iTunes Store
- Click on the arrow next to the price and choose ‘Gift This Song’
- Enter your Apple ID details and those of your loved one
- Select delivery for February 14
