iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra
The latest operating systems iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra are now available for everyone with a compatible Apple device. Read in this blog how to install iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra and what you need to keep in mind.
iOS 11
After several betas, you can finally download the final version of iOS 11 for your iPhone or iPad as of September 19, 2017. This is a major update, so many small and large functionalities have changed. For example, there is a new Files app and Dock, a revamped App Store, and natural Siri voices.Compatible devices
With iOS 11, Apple no longer supports devices with a 32-bit processor. Apps also need to be 64-bit compatible, which means many outdated apps will disappear from the App Store. Only the devices listed below are compatible with iOS 11:- iPhone X

Installation
Over-the-air
Do you have a compatible device? Then you will automatically receive a notification on your screen that iOS 11 is available. If this is not the case, you can follow the steps below to manually install iOS 11.- Open Settings
- Tap General > Software Update
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update
Via iTunes
It is also possible to install iOS 11 via iTunes. This can be a useful alternative for people with an iPhone that has limited storage space, as it requires less free space.- Make sure your iPhone or iPad is connected to your computer with a cable
- Open iTunes on your computer and select the iOS device by clicking on the icon
- Ensure the Overview tab is visible and click Check for Update
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update
macOS 10.13 High Sierra
As of September 25, 2017, you can download macOS High Sierra for your MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini, or Mac Pro. This update mainly contains behind-the-scenes changes, but there are also a few visible improvements.Compatible Macs
macOS High Sierra can be installed from the App Store. If your Mac is already running macOS 10.12 Sierra, you can update it to macOS 10.13 High Sierra. The following models are supported by macOS High Sierra:- MacBook Pro 2010 or later
- MacBook Air 2010 or later
- MacBook late 2009 or later
- iMac late 2009 or later
- Mac mini 2010 or later
- Mac Pro 2010 or later
You can easily check if you have one of the models listed above. Click the in the top menu bar > About This Mac.
Installation
Before installing macOS High Sierra, check if you have a recent backup of your Mac. If so, proceed as follows:- Start your Mac and go to the App Store
- Go to the Featured tab and click on macOS High Sierra to go to the product page. You can also manually search for macOS High Sierra. Note: you won’t find the update in the Updates tab
- Click Download on the product page to start the download
- A pop-up will appear once the download is complete (depending on your download speed, this may take a while). Follow the further steps in the pop-up to complete the installation
During installation, you won’t be able to use your Mac temporarily. Fortunately, you can start the installation at any time, so if you need your Mac urgently, wait a bit before starting the installation.
Note: Do you frequently use Office 2011 or Office 2016? It is advisable to wait before updating to macOS High Sierra. Support for Office 2011 is ending, and Word, PowerPoint, and Excel have not been tested with the latest operating system. There may also be issues with Office 2016.
